Our Story
Unity Temple is a growing community passionately proclaiming the Gospel to the world, and actively demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ.
At Unity you will be accepted for who you are. No matter where you are in your journey, you will be challenged to become all that God has destined you to be. The word of God and the love of others will foster personal and spiritual growth in your life.
Come and experience the power of Unity.
What we are about
Four things you will hear us say
These are not slogans we picked out of a book. They are on our banners, in our services, and on the wall of the fellowship hall.
Experience the Power of Unity
Psalm 133 is not a decoration here. What God does in a church that actually dwells together is the whole point.
Loving God. Loving People.
The two commandments Jesus said everything else hangs on. We try to keep it that simple.
Helping People Live a Better Life
The Gospel changes eternity, and it also changes Monday. We preach for both.
The Kingdom Is Now
God is not only working someday and somewhere else. He is at work on Wyoming Avenue this week.

Our leadership
Bishop Steven Staten & First Lady Val
In September 2007 the mantle of leadership was passed to Bishop Steven Staten, son of the church’s founder. Under his straightforward leadership he is impacting the community, building leaders for the 21st century, and changing lives by preaching, teaching and modeling Christian success.
Love and evangelism are the emphasis of his ministry. Caring and compassionate outreach to people of all walks of life is constantly emphasized, using a team approach.
In the community
Preaching the Word, and showing up
For fifty years this church has actively preached the Word, fed the hungry, visited and ministered to the sick, and offered a variety of services to enhance the lives of people in the community.
Tutoring young people
Helping students in our neighborhood reach their educational goals.
Shelter for the homeless
Providing temporary shelter for people with nowhere else to go.
Feeding the hungry
Free breakfasts, community meals, and a kitchen that rarely sits still.
Our church family
Fifty years of faces
